Listen to Mary Beth’s
message as she
turns our attention
back to the cross,
God’s pillar of love.
A pillar by definition is an upright structure used for support in a building or one that stands alone as a monument.
When I think of a pillar of love, I think of the cross. I see Jesus hanging on the cross. No greater love has no man than this, to lay down his life for his brother.
The great love of the Father sent Jesus to die for us. The great love of Jesus surrendered his will to the Father, and gave his very life for us. All from love, a love so great.
He endured the pain of scourging, a sharp and painful crown upon his head, and nails driven through his hands and feet, and a sword piercing his side.
I really cannot truly imagine how painful that was. Or can I comprehend the immensity of the love that propelled Jesus to do all that?
But, I want to comprehend it, because embracing the cross will bring me closer to him. I want to truly worship Him for what He has done for me through the pillar of love.
Why not join me in putting a cross on your nightstand this month, so it’s one of the first things we see in the morning. And when we look at it, let’s think about the deepest, widest, highest, biggest love in all the world. Let it touch our hearts.
And then let’s share that love with a word, a hug, maybe even a simple story of love with our family and whomever we meet throughout the day.
May the pillar of love hold you up, strengthen you, and encourage you as you go, remembering how very much you are loved. ~
Let’s remember the greatest act of love in history
Quick Tips:

- Share or read the story of what Jesus did.
- Take communion as a family.
- Display or create artwork of the cross as a reminder.
