To honor is to respect and plays high value on the things of God and every person made in the image of God, especially elders and those in authority.

Above all, God is to be honored. Now to the King, eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. And worthy is the lamb who was slain to receive power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing!

We honor God with our lips and our hearts of love, our time and wealth, our worship and obedience.

God shows us how to honor because he himself shows honor in his relationships with each member of the Trinity and with his creation.

Jesus only did the work his Father gave him to do and what he saw his father doing. The Father publicly honored and revealed his love and delight for Jesus when Jesus was baptized. Later, he exalted Jesus, giving him the name above all names because of his obedience. The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and testifies about Jesus.

Scripture says God cares for mankind and crowns us with honor and glory.

Scripture also says we are fearfully made, which means that God knits a person together in the womb with a great awe. There is intrinsic value in every human life, whether they be male or female, and no matter how young, how old, or what their status or origin on the earth.

We are to acknowledge those who lead us, govern us, protect us, and go before us. They are all due special honor.

Let’s create a culture of honor that starts in the home where it is first modeled and learned, and let the world see the way we honor others in our churches in and our communities.

Yes, well said. Thanks Michelle. When I was a milkman I had a route including Brightwood and some guys thought it was a “bad area” for collecting payments. I appreciated my customers and simply honored them and they honored me by always paying their bill. It is so simple. This was all before I was saved.
